Nominated for Best International Feature at the 2021 Oscars

Directed by Tunisia’s Kaouther Ben Hania, this art-world satire inspired by an actual living painting she saw at the Louvre, is the story of Syrian refugee Sam Ali in his search for freedom from the war-torn Middle East through the finest hotels and galleries of Europe.

“THE MAN WHO SOLD HIS SKIN is the first Tunisian production ever nominated for the international feature film Academy Award — and boy, does it fit the category…..infused with wicked humor, outstanding visual imagination and unpredictably layered characters.” – Bob Strauss, San Francisco Chronicle

“It weaves together satire and humane political awareness to create an original fable about art, privilege, freedom and identity.” – John Powers, NPR
