A BRILLIANT COMEDY/DRAMA ABOUT WHAT A STRANGE AND BEWILDERING EXPERIENCE CATHOLIC SCHOOL IS, ESPECIALLY FOR A TEENAGE GIRL HAVING SEXUAL URGES IN THE FACE OF ETERNAL DAMNATION.
Karen Maine’s debut feature YES, GOD, YES received a Special Jury Prize at South By Southwest and was listed in both Deadline’s and The Hollywood Reporter’s “Best of the Fest” lists.
“Though the subject of teenage sexuality is tricky territory, it is one which the film never exploits but instead sweetly explores.” – Joe Leydon, Variety
“A comedy of nervous giggles of recognition, a few good laughs and enlightened compassion in the darnedest places.” – Roger Moore, Movie Nation
“Loaded with razor-sharp writing that takes more than a few stabs at the idea that sex outside of marriage (even masturbation) will send you to a fiery hell, the film finally gives young women a movie that shows it’s okay to figure out what you like and believe in on your own terms.” – BOOM Howdy
