It is 1966 in Albacete, Spain. English teacher and die-hard Beatles fan Antonio decides to go on a road trip to Almería in the hope of meeting John Lennon, who is shooting a film there. On the way he picks up two young runaways and the trio form an unlikely bond to follow their dreams and find themselves.
” LIVING IS EASY WITH EYES CLOSED is a picaresque Spanish road-trip comedy with subtexts [of] a Spain where everyone who was “different” lived in fear, where decades of censorship and cultural repression sat bottled up until the day Franco died.” – Roger Moore, McClatchy-Tribune News Service
“ This small gem offers a lovely evocation of Spain as well as a touching tribute to an unforgettable moment in time when the Beatles seemed to offer brand new possibilities, the idea that strawberry fields might indeed go on forever. ” – Stephen Farber, The Hollywood Reporter
Language: Spanish (English subtitles)
