From Israel, this is a charming comedy/drama/romance about starting anew and rediscovering yourself in the most unexpected places.
Raya and Victor shared a career dubbing the Western movies that made it to Soviet screens. In 1990, with the collapse of the USSR , the couple immigrates to Israel to reinvent themselves in a country that does not need Russian speaking dubbing artists.
“GOLDEN VOICES is an original, unusual and quite disarming film about the immigrant experience.” – David Stratton, The Australian
“Utterly charming and profoundly moving.” – Erin Free, FILMINK
“Important life lessons arrive late for the elderly married couple at the heart of Evgeny Ruman’s meticulously sculpted, closely observed, bitter-sweet comedy-drama, a film blessed with lead performances that prove that less is more, and often much more.” – Jim Schembri, jimschembri.com
