Please attend a very rare and special screening of the beautifully restored 1945 masterpiece CHILDREN OF PARADISE.  This film is frequently included in lists of the greatest films of all time.  There may be no greater film about love and romance.

CHILDREN OF PARADISE is an ineffably witty tale of a woman loved by four different men.  Deftly entwining theater, literature, music, and design, director Marcel Carné and screenwriter Jacques Prévert resurrect the tumultuous world of nineteenth-century Paris, teeming with hucksters and aristocrats, thieves and courtesans, pimps and seers.  The film was produced under overwhelmingly difficult circumstances during the Nazi occupation of France, and many of the participants/creators were members of the French Resistance, so the movie’s existence itself is somewhat miraculous.
 
The film runs 3 hours plus a 10 minute intermission.
